Recently at the invitation of Rabbi Ralph Genende OAM our CEO Mike attended a unique interfaith meeting at the Jewish Museum of Australia with Muslim scholar Professor Sheik Abdullah Al-Tamimi. The event was mutually hosted by the Museum and the Australia/Israel & Jewish Affairs Council (AIJAC).
AIJAC is the premier public affairs organisation for the Australian Jewish community. AIJAC conveys the interests of the Australian Jewish community to government, media and other community organisations. Our dedicated professionals produce regular commentary and analysis on developments in the Middle East, Asia and Australia.
AIJAC endeavours to highlight and counteract instances of anti-Israel bias and misinformation in the Australian media and wider public debate.
AIJAC seeks to be part of efforts to further Australia’s development as a tolerant and harmonious multicultural society and identify and expose forms of extremism and fundamentalism.
Rabbi Genende is the Interfaith & Community Liaison at AIJAC. Prof Sheik Al-Tamimi advocates peace between Israel and the Muslim world. The evening was a wonderful show of support and unity. The Prof Sheik Al-Tamimi spoke about Jewish and Muslim people living in peace and ways to achieve this goal.
