Earlier this year
Tammy Tempelhof Clinical Psychologist & Clinic Director from
TT Psychology reached out to see if we would be interested in running a one-hour workshop for her team of psychologists in Elsternwick.
TT Psychology are specialist Child, Adolescent & Parent Psychologists. While not all of the therapists are Jewish, many of their clients are, and Tammy was keen to create space for her team to better understand how to support clients in a culturally safe and appropriate way.
Our volunteer Facilitators Sabi and Sarah facilitated the session with openness and compassion, creating a discussion that was both thoughtful and solution-focused. Together, we explored the challenges of responding to antisemitism from both the perspective of those experiencing it and those exhibiting it, the importance of self-determined power, and how even small actions can make a meaningful difference.
While this type of program is not our usual offering, it proved to be incredibly valuable. It was also a strong reminder that there are many allies in the community doing important, positive work. A huge thank you to Sabi and Sarah for leading the session and sharing both their experience and expertise.
