What a day we had at Afri-Aus Care Inc!
On Thursday 20 April a group of Courage to Care volunteers and staff attended a special Lunch & Learn Event at Afri-Aus Care Inc headquarters in Springvale South. The discrimination that African students are experiencing in Victorian schools is absolute proof that our programs and your work as c2c volunteers is more relevant and necessary than ever. Discrimination and racism is so very real for African members of the community and today provided us with greater insight.
Selba and her team are a shining example of how when people have the courage to care they can make such a difference. In Selba’s words “Ubuntu – I am because you are.” A huge thanks to Selba, the Mummas, Sam, Anish, the students and everyone else involved for their incredible warmth and hospitality (the lunch banquet was heavenly).The Afri-Aus Care Inc team are Upstanders in every sense of the word.
