In February we held our first Volunteer Morning Tea for the year with volunteer and guest Speaker Garry Fabian OAM. Garry spoke to a group of 30 volunteers about his experiences returning to Germany post war and most recently in November 2024. Garry is a Holocaust survivor who was imprisoned in Thereisenstadt. Garry told the group about how Germany is trying to build bridges and come to terms with its history through engaging with survivors like himself. Garry left us all with a very poignant and psoitive message about resisting the temptation to hate and to be able to move forward despite insurmountable challenges in our own lives. Special thanks to Garry for speaking so candidly at our event.
