Thought-provoking conversations to inform our lives as Upstanders
Held on the second Friday of the month, every second month, each Conversation focuses on a topic affecting contemporary society. Feel uplifted, more informed, more engaged and and better equipped to speak on the issues.
Coming up: “Diversity, Equity and Inclusion. Progress or performative?” – Friday 4 September 2026, 10.00am – 12.00pm.
DEI (Diversity, Equity and Inclusion) initiatives have increasingly come under scrutiny, with some people viewing them as essential for creating fairer, safer communities, while others see them as tokenistic, performative or unnecessary.
So what does an inclusive society actually look and feel like? What role do schools play in shaping inclusion and belonging? And why have things like pronouns become such a significant — and sometimes divisive — part of these conversations?
