Thought-provoking conversations to inform our lives as Upstanders

Held on the second Friday of the month, every second month, each Conversation focuses on a topic affecting contemporary society that is directly relevant to Courage to Care. Feel uplifted, more informed, more engaged and and better equipped to speak on the issues.

“Wokeism, wokist, wokery: is it destructive or are you afraid of change?”

Is wokeism the weaponising of personal grievances masquerading as genuine social concern, or the activism of people who are sensitive to social and political injustice? We will discuss a movement that instils animosity among many.

Watch/Listen/Read:  Video: the political journey of the word |   Wokeness explained (the con view) | Wokeness explained (the pro view)  |  What does it mean to be woke?   |     |

You don’t have to review all the material! But you will get the most out of the Conversation if you review just one or two resources in advance. If you don’t have time to prepare, come along anyway! All ideas and reflections are welcome.
