We provide all the help you need to succeed in your volunteering role.
We offer defined training pathways and ongoing learning and upskilling opportunities that will help you to feel competent, confident and supported in the roles you take on.
If you are new, start with the Foundation modules and then decide which volunteering pathway suits your skills and interests. Participating in the training has no strings attached – if a role doesn’t feel right you can change your mind.
The Annual Accreditation is mandatory for volunteers accredited for program delivery. You’ll need to complete them every year to remain accredited and to be included on the roster.
Everyone is encouraged to retake any of the modules as often as you choose to refresh your knowledge and understanding.
There are four sequential training levels:
Everyone completes Level 1 and you can then progress along the training pathways according to your interest.
The Ongoing Learning modules include equipment practice, extending facilitation skills and deepening understanding of core themes.
If you have any questions or need support, email the team at firstname.lastname@example.org and someone will call you as soon as possible.
Introduction to Courage to Care
These modules introduce you to the Courage to Care ethos and culture and provide the foundation for all volunteering roles.
These two modules are mandatory and must be completed before any further training or taking on any volunteer role.
When you’re ready, you can choose to continue along the program delivery training pathways – or if you want to volunteer in non-program areas, speak to our volunteer coordinator.
To join one of our program delivery teams you will complete a combination of online modules, practical workshops and on-the-ground supervised practice at schools.
All volunteers active in program delivery are required to participate in these mandatory training modules annually to maintain their accreditation.
Annual Refresher: Check out what’s new in the programs you deliver with the MYP1 or SYP1 modules.
Safety Protocols: Refresh your knowledge and understanding of Child Safe protocols annually.
Open to all Courage to Care volunteers. Optional opportunities to deepen your understanding of the core concepts, improve your skills, and participate in stimulating discussions with peers on subjects of mutual concern.
Mentoring is a key component of the Courage to Care training process and we encourage experienced facilitators to take on a mentoring role.
We currently have a training module to prepare team members (with a minimum of 2 years experience) as Lead facilitators and to progress to become a Buddy.
Additional modules to come!
