Local Heroes

LOCAL HEROES are Upstanders, individuals who have acted selflessly and courageously in their local community.

Each Courage to Care Exhibition Program endeavours to honour a Local Hero, a contemporary role model of what it means to be an Upstander.

By telling the stories of the extraordinary acts of ordinary Victorians, Courage to Care demonstrates that we are all capable of being Upstanders, and acting with moral courage.

Each person can make a difference.
